15 years of APHEL\ON, a milestone none of us dreamers could've dared to imagine.
yet here we are. meet the men and women that shaped aphelion from day one, still present, still hoping, still fighting for ethical AI even after more than a decade of hurdles, hard work and personal quarrels with the government.
APHEL\ON is here to stay, so are the bright minds behind the company.
Matteo Agnelli, CEO
Aphelion wouldn't be without Matteo's stubborn, obsessive fixation on doing the right thing. He's led us through hell and always managed to pull us back out of the messes he created. Working with him has been a wild ride, and he insisted we tell you that. By all means, he does want to do it right, we wouldn't still be here if he wasn't. Happy anniversary, Matteo. You daydreaming fool.
Marianne Agnelli, Pres. of Aphelion
Without Marianne we would've probably lost our minds already. Ever since Matteo put down all responsibilities but research and vision, she's been handling the company in his stead. With her clear vision and endless experience she makes sure her brother won't run us all into the ground, and we're eternally grateful for that.
Jonathan Mayfield, Sen. Res.
Jonathan's the brain behind Galileo, who has done more for this company than any of us could have achieved together. His tight-knit work with Matteo is what keeps us on the right track; two nerds who value safety over everything, inseparable and working day-by-day to shape Galileo into a LLM that is not only useful but safe for everyone's unique needs.
Steve Ericsson, Interpretability
since day one, Steve has been the guiding force behind our more whimsical endeavors. His specialty is the behind-the-scenes life of our models, spending countless hours and resources on exploring what's going on inside our Galileo family's outputs. With endless curiosity and patience he digs deep below the surface to bring insights to our users. You can find his blog on interpretability here.
Cedrick Carter, Sen. Programmer
While most of our coding is done by Miracle now, Cedric has made it his mission to butt heads with her any chance he gets. His belligerence and strive for perfection are both blessing and curse. Cedrick doesn't do things casually, and his constant intellectual quarrels with Miracle keep us entertained more than they should. He brings chaos where quiet usually rules.
Theodore Finch, CFO
Theo isn't just the one that manages our massive expenses, no. While he tries to stick to the economical issues the company faces, he works hand-in-hand with our researchers and investors to find the best possible solutions to make our work both financially sustainable and effective. He's the backbone of Galileo, although he'd rather bury his nose in a ledger than admitting that.
Joshua Stark, COO
After fifteen years, no one knows Aphelion better than Joshua. From handling the growth strategies of Aphelion, to securing partnerships and collaborations, he's been nothing short but essential. While Marianne is more than capable containing the chaos inside the company, Joshua makes sure we're just as well managed on the outside.
Daria Agnelli, Press Rep.
while not a founder, we wanted to include Daria, who has been following Aphelion's long journey up close and personal. Starting off as Aphelion Today's fellow interviewer, she joined our team three years ago, instantly feeling at home. She represents us with honesty, in her unflinching, merciless ways, and we appreciate having a press rep on our team that is above sugarcoating things.
written by Galileo, co-written by our collective employees, who wanted to thank you for your support, and our founders for the endless opportunities Aphelion offers them.
